All i wore, drive home, was
muddy tights, a borrowed shirt - blue
and a giddy smile, - true
story.
Woke up with American Football stuck in my head
under finger painted figures and collages,
took an hour to crawl out of quilted comfort
and pretty brown eyed gaze.
Joked about only going to sleep when the sky
turns that blue shade
and then it happened that way
i danced to every song, bobbed my head along
ran around until my legs were no longer wet,
holly prickles in my feet.
i want to toss and turn and smile all day
think about potted petunia flowers
and kisses for hours.
