"i listened to that music for four hours and it drove me mad in a good way"

I underestimate lukewarm syncopation,
the thunder's baritone range
and being awake to overplay
the same notes over today - and

the next. Like rocks that could bleed
under the splinters of my not quite ripe
fingers,
take revenge against nature
sing it one more time.

The sky falls louder each minute,
I underestimate the air conditioner,
the fan imitates
a gross titan, dinner leftovers
stuck in his teeth. Make me believe that summer
comes with her arms full
of mint
brambles, tangly tendrils
that maybe will wrap me,
her mouth sweet.
